As of September 29, 2025, right after the GST slab revamp effective September 22, 2025, the GST rate on CCTV cameras and surveillance equipment has not changed. It remains at 18%, classified under HSN Code 8525 (which covers transmission apparatus, video cameras, and digital cameras, including CCTV).

Quick Breakdown:
Previous Rate (pre-Sept 2025): 18% (CCTV was already at this rate, unlike some other digital cameras that were at 28% and got reduced).
Current Rate: 18% – No reduction or increase.
Why No Change? The GST Council focused on bringing down rates for many electronics (like TVs over 32" from 28% to 18%) and essentials to 5%, but CCTV stayed in the standard 18% slab.
This means if you're buying a CCTV system (e.g., a basic 4-camera setup for ₹10,000), you'll still pay ₹1,800 in GST. Installation services might also attract 18%.
If you're a business or consumer in Vijayapura like with Prateeksha Enterprises (from our earlier chat), check their ongoing sale for deals to offset costs – they offer CCTV alongside water filters!
